I Love Comments!

I really wanted to but...

I really wanted to participate in one of the Tuesday blog hops that I like so much...True Story Tuesday or Top 2 Tuesday, or maybe even both....but I just can't seem to get my head straight.

Another teenager was killed in another car accident yesterday here.  This child was 4 years older than Cam and they had "hung out " on several occasions when my brother was hanging out with Scooters dad.

Scooter at the time was maybe 12 or 13 and Cam was 8 or 9.  They rode ATVs and Dirt bikes together.  It's been several years, but it's difficult to tell a child that someone that is also a child has died.  Someone that he knew.  This was a terrific kid, seriously.  He took time to make sure Cam was buckled in on the ATV, and helped him buckle his helmet before they began to ride.  He was a nice kid, it's so sad that he is gone at the age of 16....it's just so very sad.

I don't understand why people feel the need to make comments other than to simply say I'm sorry under the new articles.  Why is it that people feel the need to say things like "This is why people shouldn't let teenagers drive" or "This is why we need to change the driving age"  I want to scream this is not the time or place for that.  Take it to the county counsel, take it somewhere that someone can do something about it.  Just post condolences or don't post anything at all.

Does that mean I don't think the driving age should be changed?  No, I do believe it's time to change it.  In the last 13 months 4 teenagers have died in car accidents from them same graduating class...that's a lot in a year.  If you go back just a little further...another year, that number goes up.  I just means that I believe there is a time and place for everything...and here, now is not the time nor the place.

What do you think?

Please keep the Looper family in your prayers, and his friends.

Oh man. I vividly remember losing one of my best friends in an auto accident when we were 14. He was asleep in the backseat. His older brother's girlfriend ran a stop sign & got t-boned. They were both fine.

I honestly don't know how I feel about the age limit for teen drivers. But it breaks my heart every time I hear about the loss of another young life. I will be praying for them.

I am so sorry. There's no amount of "woulda shoulda" and great ideas that will change the fact that people are grieving. My deepest sympathy.

(My high school lost three kids in one year - it is rough)

Auto accidents are so tragic. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. That's tough.
