"Mom, was I an Accident?"
Linking up with Julie at Four Sons today for Letter of Intent - if you would like to join in just click on the button below:
If I could write a letter of how I feel today this is how it would go:
Dear God,
When I was a little girl I never dreamed that my life would be where it is today. I never imagined being here in this place with these worries. I never prayed for things to be this way, and sometimes I don't know what to do with situations.
Right now Lord, I think back to that Christmas day and remember remember thinking I'm not ready for this, I can't believe it's happened. It wasn't planned by me that's for sure. Lord I praise you for knowing more than me, for knowing where I needed to be and what I needed in my life. Lord I praise you for giving this gift to me, for blessing me beyond measure. it has been 12 years today that you gave me this blessing, the blessing that I didn't ask for the blessing I didn't know would fill me with such love and such joy! Thank You God for smiling on me and giving me my son.
Dear Cameron,
Not a day goes by that I don't say "Thank You" to God for sending you to me. You make me the proudest mother in all the world. You are kind, giving and always gentle with your words. You are the best child a mother could ever hope for, and I am so very proud of the young man you are becoming. I am proud of the character you display in all of your actions. I love you more that you will ever know and I am honored to be able to call you my son!
I love you!
Happy Birthday Cameron!!!!!
I leave you today with a quote from Rosanne
DJ: "Mom was I an accident?"
Rosanne : "No DJ you were a surprise"
DJ: "What's the difference"
Roseanne "Well, an accident is something that you wish had never happened. A surprise is something you didn't know you wanted until you got it"

Things that make you go hmmmmm....
Do you remember that song? I think it was by MC Hammer. I thought of it yesterday when I read this article. Okay for my "Green" friends, I'm not trying to offend you or hurt your feelings. I think that certain things are necessary and most of the things that we need to do are common sense. However sometimes I think people go too far. Not too long ago I read this article and I have to ask just what do you think we are supposed to do about our pets? I mean we could all quit having dogs, that would help, and it would prevent Amber from having another running mishap with Dixie. (Sorry Amber...but that was just funny!) We could all just get gold fish, but poor Amber would have to take her morning jog alone..and that wouldn't be as fun and I just I don't think the fish would want to go. :( I'm just kidding.......but seriously though...here are my thoughts on the subject:
Now for starters I believe that God created this Earth. I believe that He created the Earth, and the leaves and the flowers and the trees.....(nice little jingle isn't it?). That is my belief. I also think that He created the dogs, and the fish and the cows and the people. I don't think that we can destroy it. Actually my Bible says that God will destroy the Earth. Not us. So that's my take on it.
With that being said, that doesn't meant that I don't think that we shouldn't take care of our planet. I do believe that we can work together to keep this planet beautiful. Doing the things that we should do to make sure that we live in a beautiful clean environment. Things like ......don't throw your litter out the car window, don't throw your trash on the grown, and don't dump our garbage in the ocean. You know the little things. I'm all about reducing trash...after all if you read my post on taking the garbage off you would know that's not my favorite thing to do. I try to use "green" cleaners so that chemicals so that I can "help" in that way.
I also believe that we should try to recycle things like plastic, aluminum, and card board. And since the only place in town that we can take the garbage makes you separate it, I do my part :). I do think it is going a little far to ask me to become a vegetarian to reduce the carbon footprint of cows. I think that all the save this species organizations is going too far (sometimes). I mean if those people were around back in the day the dinosaurs were around we would still be hiding from the T-Rex! That would be bad for us don't you think? (again just kidding) And furthermore, I think global warming has been around since the ice age. I could be wrong, but what caused the ice to melt in the first place? I'm kinda glad it did. It would suck to live on a frozen world. That's just my take on it. (and before you go all crazy on me I did look at buying a hybrid car, but I couldn't justify the expense of it. It was way more than my car, and only saved about 2 miles per gallon..and I don't use aerosol cans so I'm not all bad! :)
I do however think this....I am tired of picking up the garbage people throw out their window into my ditch. Please stop.....and...to the girl that left a used one of these on the ground... they should haul you in and remove your uterus. You should never be allowed to procreate, you are a disgrace to your race, your gender and your mother! Thank you very much. To all the people that throw these dirty little things on the ground, they should make you stand at the gate of the recycle center and go through the "kitchen garbage" and pull out all the aluminum cans and plastics that people don't separate until you learn to live clean. Some people are just nasty, and if they choose to live that way we should be able to give them a job in a place that would suit their living choices, and the garbage pile would be that place!
Thanks for listening to my rant! Have a great Thursday!
I'm sorry I have to keep reposting this, something is wrong here and when I hit the space bar it posts! (WTH blogger?) LOL Have a great Thursday!

I believe I can Fly!
I posted a while back about the Flylady and learning to fly again. FLY stands for Finally Loving Yourself. Well she sends you daily chores to do, along with a short routine to keep your house from CHAOS. (Can't have anyone over syndrome). Well my house is CHAOS no more! It feels great!
With that being said, it's not spotless either. However I don't make people stand at the back door and talk anymore! I can actually invite you in and not feel the need to apologize for the mess! Flylady has some great products and ideas for making cleaning easier, and faster!
One of those ideas is in the bathroom! I hate cleaning the bathroom, but if you keep a cleaner near by, and a scrub brush handy, then every morning spray the toilet, swish the brush and you are done! After you finish your make up take a rag, wipe down the counter and your bathroom is clean! (mostly clean anyway) every Monday you spend an hour (yes just one hour) "blessing" your home, that's when you vacuum, sweep & mop. It's awesome!
If you want some cleaning tips, just visit the Flylady! Where everything is PURPLE!

It's that time again & Tuesday's Weigh in!
It's that time again, school time that is. I am heading out today to purchase new school uniforms, because of course he out grew everything, and what he didn't out grow....let's just say I got my money's worth out of 'em!
I am heading out to Old Navy, the main reason I go there is not convenience. It's 45 miles away. I go there because of the quality of the clothes, for the price of the clothes. I really love their pants, and so does Cam. I used to buy pants where ever they were on sale and not concern myself with the name brand. Then I noticed that several pair would hang in the closet and not get worn, but he would wear the "dirty" pair of Old Navy pants, instead of grabbing the clean pair of what ever was hanging. The shirts lasted longer too. I bought him 4 shirts before school started from Old Navy and then bought 2 more a few weeks later from another store. The 4 Old Navy shirts still look good, the other two looked dull and worn after the 2nd wash.
Where do you like to buy the school uniforms?
I also wanted to touch base about my dad's weight loss. I have to be honest, I've not been doing so well following the plan. I've been really lazy but today I'm starting again!
Here is his before picture:

My dad on the other hand is doing great! We went to weigh in last night and he is a whopping 67 pounds lighter! WOW can you believe that?
Here is his before picture:

67 pounds makes a lot of difference! Did you know that for every one pound of weight that you loose you take 4 pounds of pressure off your knees? That's 268 pounds of pressure off his knees, no wonder he walks better!
Take care, and have a greatWednesday!

But I didn't do it!
On Saturday morning I went out to do the "Good Wife" thing and mow the lawn. The hubby had to work on Saturday morning so he wasn't going to be home until really late Saturday night. I went outside, started the riding mower, drove over to the "starting point" and engaged the blades. The only problem was the blades didn't engage.
I started going over what I did...I started the lawnmower, I drove it over, I pulled the lever to engage. Same thing I do every time. I jumped off the lawnmower (and cut it off) and reached under the deck and turned the blades to make sure nothing was jammed. They turned, so I got back onto the lawnmower and tried it all over again. Turn the key, engage the blades.....nothing. (they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the same results..guess I'm insane because I did this 3 or 4 times)
I called the hubby, "The lawnmower is broke"
"What did you do?"
"Nothing, I promise, I did nothing, the blades just wont turn, I don't know why"
"Are you sure you are pulling the knob for the blade and not the knob for the choke?"
"I've been cutting the grass for a 3 weeks, I know which knob to pull, it's broke"
When he finally got home, we realized that the belt on the blades were off track. He spent most of Sunday afternoon working on the blades, and telling Cam that he just didn't understand how the belt just jumped off the track. Cam is a literal kind of kid, if you can't explain something then you MUST make your best guess or he will drive you nuts. Wes' best guess was that "I" must have done it. "I didnt' do anything!"
Wes' explanation:
"I think that mommy engaged the blades before she turned the throttle up"
me:
"What's the throttle"
Wes
"It's the throttle"
Me"
"Is that the lever with the turtle at the bottom and the rabbit at the top?"
Wes
"Yep"
Me
"Was it supposed to be at the rabbit when I engaged the blades"
Wes
"Yep"
Me
"Babe, um...I broke the lawnmower"
There goes my hall of fame award....oh well.
