Faith of a mustard seed

Matthew 17:20

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

My friend Tracy had a child when we were in high school.  The year we graduated this little girl was only a year old.  Beautiful child.

On Easter day 2006, her daughter went out to play basket ball with her cousins after dinner.  She dropped dead with a heart attack.  This 14 year old girl was healthy, athletic. Tracy's only child gone.

Tracy recently found out that she is expecting again, and as I type this she is at the ER with complications.  Please pray for her and her unborn child.

Thank you

***Star Talent***

As you know this was our first competition of the season (my first competition in 15 or 16 years).  I must admit that my nerves were shot.  I was so nervous and scared.  The craziest thing scared me the most...

You know after you have a baby that your bladder is just not what it used to be right???  Well, before I had Cameron I had what is called a nervous/weak bladder.  Yep, when I get nervous I have to pee...but I have a weak bladder so it's always an emergency.  Not a "oh, I think I need the restroom" feeling, but an "I've got to find the restroom now" kinda of feeling.  Well since I had Cameron, it's more of an "OMG I gotta go" while I'm running down the hall kinda of feeling.  So my biggest fear was that I would pee on myself on stage in front of everyone.  Lame I know.

I didn't though...that's the good news :)

I was very nervous, I'm not sure if I were more nervous about the "Kool Aide" outfit or just getting up there and shaking my fat ass   butt.  Either way, I feel like I did okay, I'm the only one in the group that had not already competed this season in another dance, but all in all I think it went okay.

Tap is the one dance that I thought that I would nail, but somehow I got confused, then my foot stuck in the paint and I lost my place....only once, and I wasnt' the only one so that is good..I guess :)

Lyrical I thought I had nailed, then I saw a picture and my leg developed out after everyone else but I will work on that as well...

Jazz, WOW...I nailed the dance, but the pictures ....well I will share a couple just please be nice :)

This is the Kool Aide costume I was telling you about.  I'm in the red on the end.  I'm trying to figure out why I don't have more material on the seat of my costume the chick in the gray...her butt is covered....mine is hanging out :(  not cool... (we were mouthing "in the pocket" right here...that's why the funny look on my face)

I am "Big Red" over on this end...the other red is behind the lady in the black...anyway..My pose was completely different two days before, but we had to do some changing and honestly I forgot what I was doing and drug something out at the last minute....yea...can you say AWKWARD???  I look so awkward in that pose...I felt awkward too....  LOL  at least I can laugh at myself...maybe next time I will hold my shoulders back and my head up.
And you can see that I am the one with the leg still bent here...but the movement wasn't over either...I was on a high releve once the develope was extended....

I can sit here in tear people apart for what they are or are not doing...a bent leg here, flat foot there, arms wrong, broken wrists...some people are not even doing the step at all....but the point is I had a blast, it was a lot of fun.  I wish I had more pictures, but honestly I didn't realize that we could take pictures/video.  Next time though I will have something more to show.

What I really got out of this was motivation :).  Motivation to look better, try harder and score better at the next competition.  Who knows maybe it will work.

It's almost that time.....

Well if you remember way back when....I told you all that I had joined a competitive dance class.  Yes I know that I'm no longer a teenager that has been made abundantly clear to me in the past 8 months.

We have finally gotten our costumes in, and they are beautiful.  The Jazz outfit is red. RED I'm pretty sure than when I put it on someone from somewhere yelled "HEY KOOL AIDE".....     All the costumes are very pretty, and they have now been altered to fit correctly, which I must say looks a lot better than when I tried it on before!

All this to say that this weekend is it.  The first competition.  I'm so nervous.  It's my first competition in 16 years.  YES!!!!!!!!!!  I have been out of competition long enough for someone to have a child and raise it to drive a car ...what was I thinking??  My stomach is in knots....

It really sucks that no one in my family is going with me.  But I'm an adult, and its not a big deal.  My husband has to work, and Cameron can't come without someone to watch him, not to mention he has baseball practice and guitar lessons.

sigh

I'm good though.  I'm ready, just really nervous.  I wish someone would have taken a video so I can see myself before now.  I wish I was 30 pounds lighter.  I will tell you that I can now **rock** the Calypso and the off center jete!  I'm sure you are wondering about the jump that I broke my poor toe doing??? NAILED IT on Monday night!!!  (lets just hope I rock/nail it all on Saturday)

In other news: Please read the following blogs and remember them in your prayers:

Rachel and Mr. Daddy over at Once Upon a Miracle
 and
Jessica at (mis)adventures of an Army Wife
**in the comments of Army Wife, her parents write to say that Jessica is in the hospital getting help. but please remember her and her parents in your prayers** Thanks

Learning....The Hard Way

I have been telling my husband for months that we need to budget. It just seems that no matter how much we bring in it's always gone in a matter of days, and then we are sweating and waiting on payday again. It really sucks. For a while I just marked it up to playing catch up. Wes had been out of work for so long, and it just seemed like everything was behind.

About a month ago I pulled our checking account statement and realized that we are nickel and dimeing our account to death. A soft drink here, McDonalds there, everyday it was constant. Well, it's really been bothering me. We shouldn't be broke all the time, so I prayed last week, please help me figure out how to budget.

I think my prayer was answered.

Last Sunday, while in church, I was listening to the preacher but, something kept bothering me. I don't know why but in my mind I was going over everything that I had paid and thinking that I had missed something. I had not missed anything, just missed calculated. I paid out too much. There was NO MONEY LEFT. My husband works 1 1/2 hours away. He drives there every day!!! So I prayed and prayed all through church help me figure this out.

This is what I came up with. To buy gas for both cars and groceries we had about $175.00. That was it... My husband’s truck holds about $75 in gas and that will get him back and forth to work for the week, my car holds about $30 in gas and it will get me where I need to go all week. So that left only 70.00 for groceries. YIKES!!!

I thought on this all day, no eating out...that is definitely out of the question. I needed a plan and I prayed that something would just happen. Finally the brain continued to work and this was the plan I came up with. I looked at what was in the cabinet and decided what can I cook that is cheap and easy, something that I had some of in the cabinet, and something that we can eat on more than once. Chicken casserole and spaghetti. I had the cream of chicken, cream of mushroom and spaghetti noodles. PERFECT!!!!!!

So I went to the grocery store and got the rest of the stuff for chicken casserole and spaghetti and spent 45.00. I continued to pray the entire time I was at the store - Please Lord let this last us all week.

It's Wednesday and we still have $25.00 in our account. I know that is very irresponsible, and God help me not to ever do this again. But for the first time in our adult lives our debit cards will stay in our wallets all week, we can't use them. We had to buy what we needed, and make do with what we have. I've had to go home the last two nights and fix supper. Now for the next two nights we will eat leftovers, and there is enough hamburger meat (already cooked) for Sloppy Joe’s on Friday.

I'm going share my 2 recipes with you and ask if you will share something good, that you can eat on more than once (lots of leftovers), I think this is what I'm going try and do every week now. ;) (Not clean out the account, but cook more and have leftovers more often). It really is easy when you plan what you are doing, and stick to it. There is no question as to what is for supper, you know.

Chicken Casserole

1 - 32 oz box of chicken broth

1 bag of wide egg noodles

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 - 8oz sour cream

1 sleeve of Ritz Crackers

1/4 c butter (melted)

2 cans of chicken (in the canned meat section - I use all white meat)

In a large pot pour the chicken broth and the egg noodles and bring to a boil. At first it doesn’t look like there is enough broth but there is just keep the heat turned up and wait. When the noodles are soft and ready add the cream of mushroom, cream of chicken and the sour cream and the chicken. Mix well.

Pour into a casserole dish and set aside. In a bowl crumble the sleeve of Ritz crackers and pour the melted butter over them. Mix well. Spread the cracker mixture over the casserole mixture and place in the oven on 425 for 15 min, or until the crackers are brown

We can eat on this 3 times if we want to :)

Spaghetti

1 lb hamburger meat, cooked

1 large can petit diced tomatoes (I like the ones with Italian seasoning already in it)

1/2 can tomato paste

1 package of spaghetti seasoning

Pepperoni (I buy the whole pepperoni and dice up about 1/2 of it, but you can use pre sliced pepperoni)

Pour everything in your crock pot and let it cook all day. I usually use about 1/2 box of noodles each night, and I always end up throwing some away. But the sauce will last 2 nights.

Honestly this is about the extent of my cooking for more than one night so I need your help to find more recipes so that we are not eating the same thing every week! So help a sister out here!

True Story Tuesday - The hair cut

Today is Tuesday and I am linking up with Rachel and Mr. Daddy for the weekly True Story...something that most will not believe (coming from them because they seriously find humor in every situation!)  If you are looking for a good laugh today just link up with them here and join in the fun!

For the last several years I have worn the same hairstyle.  It's long all over, no bangs just long.  Here is a few pictures:

2  years ago

a couple of weeks ago..

Well last week, while I was at the beauty shop I decided I needed a change...sitting right there I said I need some bangs, like hers and pointed to a girl across the room....

This is what I got:

This is a really bad picture...but my hair really looks like this...it's really really sad.

Anyway..back to the story.

I got home from my hair cut, feeling pretty down, because I knew I didn't like it, but I was really hoping it was just me.
My husband took one look at me and said "1987 called, they want their hairstyle back".

If that wasn't bad enough, Friday was our anniversary.  When we started to leave the house he looked at me, as serious as he can be and said "are you going to wear a hat?"

Thank babe...I really needed that.  Now all I can do is wait for it to get long enough to pull back into a hair bow.

Top 2 Tuesday - Top 2 Songs on your Ipod

I am joining up with Taylor at The Undomestic Momma for her Top 2 Tuesday.  This week it's the Top 2 Songs on your Ipod....

I love music, and my tastes jump from one extreme to the other, but here are my favorites for now :)

1.  Joss Stone "The Choking Kind"

Our lyrical number is to this song, and I guess if you have ever been in a relationship that was either figuratively choking or literally choking you can relate to this song.  If  you have read my blog, you know which category I fit in :).  It's an awesome song.

2. Chris Tomlin "My Chains Are Gone"

This song, is just one that I listen to and it brings my heart to tears...if that makes since.  It's nice to know that my chain's are gone, I am free...Jesus has paid my price and I'm forgiven....that's just so very awesome!  We used to sing this at church and end it with "On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand"

I have others as well, like "In Christ Alone",  "Hurt" and Cher's "You haven't seen the last of me" there are so many.....
