I Love Comments!

I really wanted to but...

I really wanted to participate in one of the Tuesday blog hops that I like so much...True Story Tuesday or Top 2 Tuesday, or maybe even both....but I just can't seem to get my head straight.

Another teenager was killed in another car accident yesterday here.  This child was 4 years older than Cam and they had "hung out " on several occasions when my brother was hanging out with Scooters dad.

Scooter at the time was maybe 12 or 13 and Cam was 8 or 9.  They rode ATVs and Dirt bikes together.  It's been several years, but it's difficult to tell a child that someone that is also a child has died.  Someone that he knew.  This was a terrific kid, seriously.  He took time to make sure Cam was buckled in on the ATV, and helped him buckle his helmet before they began to ride.  He was a nice kid, it's so sad that he is gone at the age of 16....it's just so very sad.

I don't understand why people feel the need to make comments other than to simply say I'm sorry under the new articles.  Why is it that people feel the need to say things like "This is why people shouldn't let teenagers drive" or "This is why we need to change the driving age"  I want to scream this is not the time or place for that.  Take it to the county counsel, take it somewhere that someone can do something about it.  Just post condolences or don't post anything at all.

Does that mean I don't think the driving age should be changed?  No, I do believe it's time to change it.  In the last 13 months 4 teenagers have died in car accidents from them same graduating class...that's a lot in a year.  If you go back just a little further...another year, that number goes up.  I just means that I believe there is a time and place for everything...and here, now is not the time nor the place.

What do you think?

Please keep the Looper family in your prayers, and his friends.

Just my opinion...

I have been reading the news sites again...and I want to add my two cents

HEALTH CARE REFORM

Let me start by saying that I do think that something needs to be done about the health care industry, but I sure don't think that it should be mandatory to have health insurance.  Here are my arguments...

1.  Health insurance is so expensive, for instance my husband has insurance at his work.  He pays $250 per month for his insurance.  To add just me that premium goes up to $950, to add me and Cameron the premium spikes to $1500. per month..seriously do you think we can afford that.

NO!!!  So Cameron has a separate policy, he has a history of heart problems (which is why that surgery freaked me out so much) and he must have coverage..so I pay $150 per month for his individual coverage.  (250+150=400)  That's $400 per month in insurance now, and I don't have coverage.

Let's add an individual policy for me (we will not mention my kidney issues, or my migraines - so we won't consider the mark up)  I can get a policy for $360 per month.  That would make our total $760 per month for insurance.  That is crazy,  when you add to that our life insurance (for all of us) $95.00 per month that brings our total in health/life insurance to a whopping $855.00 per month.  That figure doesnt' include car insurance or renters insurance.  That's right RENTERS insurance.  - we will get back to that.

2.  Because my husband and I have both been with out health insurance for so long (he was laid off), we would be under (he is under) a pre-existing clause...I understand that, but, for the insurance to cover my health issues (kidney issues and migraines) I would have to pay my premium for 18 months before they would cover anything...at 360 per month * 18 months = $6480 before they will pay one dime!!!!  I can pay for my MRI and my Imitrex shots out of my pocket and still come out better than doing this, because the MRI would only be $5K...

3.  I don't make that much money, basically I would be working every day just to pay the insurance company.  Sorry I'm not doing that.

4. Lets revisit the RENTERS INSURANCE....I don't own my own home..that's right I rent a house.  why would I want to just give away my house payment every month to BCBS????? NOT DOING IT in 30 years I may be with health insurance, but I would be homeless, because I can't afford a house  I work just to pay health insurance.

I want to make sure you know that I am not poor mouthing, I'm just stating the facts.  I don't want to pay 2 1/2 checks per month to insurance...that's not right.

Do I think the health Care industry needs some change?  YES I do.  I think that if I don't meet my deductible they should have to pay a certain amount back to me.  Like my insurance would be $360 per month, that's $4320 per year.  If my deductible isn't met they should have to at least return $10-15% of my money.  They should have to pay no less than 10% of the money you pay out to the Dr or pay it back to you.  Period.

I'm sure I could think of some other things, but that's it for now.  I'm tired and getting off my computer.  But I am interested in what you think...please do tell!

Let it Snow....again

Wow here we are with our second snow in less than a month, and a lot of it.  I was out of work on Monday and Tuesday because of the snow, and I'm not going in until lunch today.  This is horrible!  I work for a CPA and I have deadlines on Monday.  I'm not going to have the payrolls finished by Monday and I'm sure that the IRS don't care that the snow has kept me out of work.

Anyway I thought I would share some pictures with you from our snow days....
This is in my back yard...beautiful isn't it??
This is my little man....
My nephew....

My to favorite boys together...

I just can't help but wonder, if it has snowed this much in the last 3 weeks, wonder how much more it's gonna snow before Spring gets here, we never get snow usually just ice for a day, once usually in March.  Here it is January and this is the second time that we have gotten more than 4 inches at once.  It's beautiful, but I'm hoping it will be gone soon!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Letter of Intent

Foursons

Dear Self,

Try to remember when  you buy new hooker boots that you are no longer as light and graceful as you once were.  Although you were able to dance in  these

you seem to have a very hard time walking in these:

And a special thank you for making me clean the coffee up off the floor of TWO rooms when....I hadn't had my COFFEE YET and now unless I wanted to drink it straight from the floor I wasn't getting it either.

Special thank you to self for the extra close..close up of the floor so that I can see exactly where I have missed with the mop...

More Babies

What is it about people that make them think it's okay to ask why you don't want more children?

I'm not angry so this isn't a bashing post, it's just observation.  My husband and I have one child, actually I have a child from a previous marriage and my husband has no children.  However, when people see the age of my son they ask..don't you want more children? When I respond with "No we hare happy with just one" they seem to look at me like I am crazy and ask "WHY" gasping....

Well first of all..when Cam was younger I wanted more children, but I was getting divorced and I don't believe in having children outside of marriage.  So I had to wait until I remarried.  When I did finally remarry, I had insurance and it just never happened.  We were not "trying" we were just not preventing.  Then I changed jobs, lost insurance and here we are...Cameron is 12 years old I wouldn't be getting him a "playmate" or anything by the time new child could play Cam would be in college.  I still do not have health insurance, and I believe that if you can't afford something then you don't have it.  Hence why I don't have credit cards....I don't have insurance....I can't pay a Dr. visit to deliver a baby...I guess they would repo my child???

The only people without insurance that can afford to have baby after baby are the ones that have no issues letting the tax payers pay for their baby, I am not one of those people, and usually that's the people that ask "Why no more"  Sometimes I wish I was not raised to be so respectful of others because I would say "Well, because when you have to pay for it yourself and raise it yourself then you are less likely to have 5 kids with 5 men and only have 1 live with you at a time"...humph...I guess you can tell I'm thinking about a particular person!  LOL

Have a good Tuesday...

I didn't know you were religious

Wow, those words hurt.

We were at dance a few weeks ago, and one of my fellow dancers had some health issues that required kidney surgery.  She was out about 3 weeks, and after the results were in she came by to give us an update.  While we were talking I said "Hey I'm glad you are here, I've been praying for good news."  She said that she didn't even know that I knew what was going on because she had not seen me.  So my next response was "Those of us that didn't rush to the bedside, were busy on our knees asking our Father to heal you and bring good news with the results"  At that point another dancer said "I didn't know you were religious"

If that's not a wake up call to any Christian then I don't know what is. I have been a Sunday Christian.  That' s not good.  Do you realize that if we only go to church on Sunday and we don't spend time with our Lord then we only spend 52 days a year in his service, and 313 days a year serving Satan.  I never really thought of it that way.  I'm not saying that I was spending my week worshiping the Devil, of course I wasn't doing that.  I was just not letting Christ shine through me, I was not living so that people had no doubt that I LOVE JESUS!!!!!

My first and most important New Years Resolution is to make sure that I live like a Christian, I am going to let myself go so that Jesus can live through me.   I don't want to just Love God, I want to Live for Him.
